To obtain a visa for a non-lucrative or student visit to Spain of more than 90 days (in a 180-day period) up to 1 year, you will be required to submit a medical certificate of good health (IHR 2005) as part of the application documentation.

Important – What can I use this medical certificate for?
The medical certificate for good health is used as part of the application process for a non-lucrative visa for Spain. Also known as the Spanish passive income visa or D7 visa, this visa is required by UK citizens able to support themselves who wish to stay over 90 days up to 1 year in Spain, after which they can apply to renew it.

After you receive your medical certificate, it will need to be translated into Spanish by a certified or sworn translator recognised by the Spanish authorities to ensure it is accepted by them. In addition, it will need to be apostilled (certified) by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) to ensure your certificate is legally valid in Spain.
